JAMA MASJID ALIGARH

Jama Masjid is the oldest historical monument positioned in the Upper Fort area of Aligarh, the highest point in the city. Most of the People offer Fazr salah and it also attracts the people from outside to notice its Islamic architecture with three domes flanked with minarets on either of their sides. Many people from other countries also come to see the beauty.

During the daytime and also in the night, the multi-colored glasses on doors leave a majestic view for its visitors and the outside of the masjid flaunts with lights planted on it.

The founder of Aligarh Muslim University, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, started building the Jama Masjid at the forefront of the university in 1879. The masjid was commemorated in January 1915.  The in-built capacity of the mosque is 5000 people.

The nearby attractions to the masjid include Maulana Azad Library and Aligarh Fort.
