The Aligarh Muslim University was established in 1875 as Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. This year 1920 saw the formal establishment of the Aligarh Muslim University. AMU conducts an entrance test for granting admission to class 11th in various streams which include Science, Commerce, and Humanities.

Eligibility criteria:

• The candidate must have passed the Secondary School Certificate of AMU or class 10th or equivalent examination from a recognized school/ board.
• For admission to the Science stream, the student must have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate with English, Science (including Life Sciences), and Mathematics has taken together.
• The candidate must have passed in English, Science, and Mathematics separately.
